Preparation Steps:
- Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix package. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix with water, oil, and eggs. Stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake according to package directions until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
- While the brownies are cooling, whisk together the pudding mix and milk in a mixing bowl for about 2 minutes until thickened. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and sugar on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, about 3-4 minutes.
- Cut the cooled brownies into squares and start layering in your trifle dish: brownie squares, pudding, whipped cream, and crushed Butterfinger. Repeat until finished, topping with whipped cream and Butterfinger.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Use homemade brownies for a from-scratch approach.
- Add a drizzle of chocolate syrup between layers for extra richness.
- Substitute Butterfinger with Snickers or Reese's for a different flavor.
- Best enjoyed within 2-3 days for optimal freshness.
